SAE Motor Oil

Motor oils are classified by viscosity, which is designed by rating system developed by the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). The letters “SAE” should precede the oil viscosity on the motor oil labeling. This means the “SAE” refers to the oil viscosity specification. For SAE numbering which is also known as viscosity rating companies use code to grade motor oils. However this characteristic is not the actual viscosity value of the motor oil. Initially, viscosity ratings were monograde which means it only comes with one number (such as engine oil SAE 40). Later on in the 1950s, Multigrade oils were added to introduce engine operating and temperature conditions. For instance some motor oil is rated with a number, XW-XX. Such as SAE 5W-30, SAE 10W-30 or SAE 10W-40 in which the letter “W” stands for Winter. The number located right before the W shows how the oil flows when at 0 degrees Fahrenheit. The lower this number is, the less likely the oil is to thicken when the temperatures get cold. In this rating system that is known as Multirated oils, a 0W or 5W motor oil tends to perform the best In areas that are severely cool. Number after the W indicate the oil viscosity rating at 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Basically, this number shows how fast the oil thins out when operating at higher temperatures.

WE Company is the supplier of SAE in various volume and customized packaging. SAE is a mineral-oil-based monograde motor oil with the least additives. It forms an oil mist during operation, which lubricates all lubrication points that are not supplied with oil via oil splash lubrication. Due to its strong adhesive power it is considered as an excellent emergency lubrication. The application of SAE is numerous. SAE is used for the lubrication of gasoline engines for cars, heavy vehicles and farm equipment, diesel engines for commercial vehicles and contractor equipment. It can also be intended for gear and hydraulic applications, as well.
