Bitumen is viscous, nonvolatile liquid or solid. Bitumen is a complex colloid system the chemical properties of which are dependent on the properties of crude oil from which it is produced. Pure bitumen is a colloid dispersion of microscopic asphalt particles (dispersion phase).
Petroleum jelly is a mixture of hydrocarbons, with a melting point that depends on the exact proportions. The melting point is typically between 40 and 70 °C (105 and 160 °F).It is flammable only when heated to liquid; then the fumes will light, not the liquid itself, It is colorless or has a pale yellow color (when not highly distilled), translucent, and devoid of taste and smell when pure.
Rubber Process Oil (RPO) has a key role as lubricants. Firstly, it improves the quality of rubber blending, Secondly, it facilitates the embodiment of fillers and other additives.
Notably, RPO has a lot of applications. surprisingly, about 2/3 of the rubber industry is involving in the tire industry, however, 1/3 being non-tire related
Residue wax or Foots oil is a by-product of the manufacturing process of paraffin wax.
Oil content of foots oil is around 35 and has line fatty acids and free fatty acids foots oil is a rich source of base oil.
There are plenty of oils and fatty acids in the product live up to the base and free fatty acids are a rich source of oil. Foots Oil (residue wax) produced during the extraction of oil from the slack wax or is derived from the producing process of semi-refined paraffin wax.
Slack Wax is by-product of the production lubricating oils and mixture of paraffin wax and oil originated from petroleum crude oil. During the production of Group I lube base oil, first the feedstock has to go through solvent extraction process to remove aromatics and the resultant product is called raffinate.
Paraffin wax is a white or colorless soft solid derivable from petroleum, coal or oil shale, that consists of a mixture of hydrocarbon molecules containing between twenty and forty carbon atoms. It is solid at room temperature and begins to melt above approximately 37 °C (99 °F). Fully refined paraffin waxes typically have a low oil content (below .5% by weight), good color (+28 min ASTM), and are very hard. These types of waxes offer a variety of beneficial properties in numerous applications.
Base oils are used to manufacture a wide range of lubricating products, from motor oils to greases and emulsions. They come in five Groups, and can be produced from refining crude oil or created synthetically. There are large numbers of crude oils all around the world that are used to produce base oils. Different products require different compositions and properties in the oil.
